Scripture: Genesis 32:26 — “And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.”
Reflection:
Jacob had always been a fighter — from the womb to adulthood. He schemed, wrestled, and grabbed to secure blessings. But there came a breaking point when he was left alone and wrestled with God. That night wasn’t just about a physical struggle — it was a turning point where Jacob shifted from self-reliance to surrender. His cry, “I will not let thee go unless thou bless me,” wasn’t just desperation — it was hunger for something beyond riches — the true blessing.
In our journey, many of us are Jacob. We try to connect ourselves, fight our way through life, and use our strength to survive. But heaven’s strategy is different: surrender. Until you let go, God cannot take over. Strength is not in struggling, it’s in surrendering. Let go and let God.
Prayer Points:
– My Father My Father, As I begin to pray, teach me how to release control and trust in You completely.
– My Father My Father, As I begin to pray, deliver me from every habit of self-reliance that hinders Your full expression in my life.
– My Father My Father, As I begin to pray, bless me with encounters that turn my struggle into surrender.
